Eleven players show up. Your game form calls for even numbers. So you either force everyone into one slightly-too-crowded version of it, or you stop and manually cobble together a second activity for whoever's left over. Neither is a great use of the ten minutes before training starts.
What's New: Automatic Parallel Groups
Saideline can now split an uneven squad into two parallel groups automatically, each running its own appropriately-sized game form at the same time. Eleven players, for example, might become a 7-player group working the main game form you searched for, while the remaining 4 run a 2v2 alongside it — both groups training with full intensity, at the same time, on the same session plan.
You still get exactly the session you asked for. You just stop losing players to the sideline while you figure out what to do with them.
Same Training Quality for Every Player, Not Just the Ones Who Fit
The real problem with an uneven squad was never the math — it was that the extra players usually ended up in a watered-down activity thrown together on the spot, or standing around waiting for a turn. Parallel groups means every player is in a properly sized, properly matched game form for the entire block, not just the ones who happened to fit the primary format.
How Coaches Are Likely to Use This
This shows up most on the days your numbers don't cooperate — late arrivals, a few absences, an academy structure where squad size shifts week to week. Instead of adapting the session around the headcount you didn't plan for, the session now adapts itself, automatically, the moment you generate it. And with the squad feature, Saideline also assigns the players who are present to your game forms and builds the teams, so a late cancellation means changing one status instead of redoing the session.
